My Foot It patch

Hi. My name is Andy Cotton & I live in the village of Over, in Cambridgeshire, about midway between Cambridge & Huntingdon. I'm an ex employee of the RSPB (21 years) and have been an avid birder for 30 years.
My patch mainly follows a section of the valley of the River Great Ouse & includes the RSPB reserves at Fen Drayton Lakes & Ouse Fen. It is therefore very rich in birdlife, particularly for an inland site.

The patch also includes areas of farmland and some old orchards, which gives it reasonable diversity. It is a bit lacking in woodland and obviously, there is no coastline!

In the spring the valley can be quite beautiful (this is the view looking towards the village of Bluntisham). However, in winter it can often look like this.....

As I'm now working from home & have lots of opportunities to walk the dog...

...I'm going to be a bit ambitious and target 100 species (at least it should make working out the maths a bit easier). During recent walks, I totalled 60 & 62 species, so here's hoping!
